At CUBSON, we conduct routine laboratory tests on our samples and powder paints to ensure the quality and traceability of our raw materials.
We perform thorough inspections to guarantee the quality of our metal coatings. To foster technological and industrial development and enhance competitiveness, we established a world-class R&D laboratory in Madrid in 2007. We have equipped this facility with advanced tools for manufacturing, quality control, and technical support. Over the years, we have invested in various measuring instruments to ensure rigorous quality control of powder coatings, both before and after polymerization.
OUR QUALITY CONTROL LABORATORY
Laboratory Extruder: A machine used in research labs to mix, melt, and shape materials (usually polymers) by pushing them through a shaped die. It's used to simulate industrial processes on a smaller scale, including the preparation of powder coatings and polyester coatings.
Particle Size Analyzer by Laser Diffraction: An instrument that uses laser beams to measure the size distribution of particles in a sample by analyzing how they scatter light. Commonly used in materials science, especially in the development of powder coatings to ensure consistent particle size.
Accelerated Artificial Aging Test Chamber (Xenon Test): A device that simulates sunlight and weather conditions using xenon lamps to accelerate the aging process of materials. It is commonly used to test the durability of powder coatings and polyester coatings against UV radiation, temperature, and humidity.
Hot Plate Press: A piece of equipment used to apply heat and pressure to materials, often in the production of composites or laminates. It allows for the compression and curing of materials, including polyester coatings.
Cab and Spray Gun Application: A setup that includes a spray booth (cab) and a spray gun, used to apply coatings, paints, or finishes onto surfaces. It's commonly used to apply powder coatings and polyester coatings in industries like automotive and manufacturing.
Color Comparison Booth: An enclosed space with controlled lighting used to compare the color and appearance of materials under standardized lighting conditions. It's essential for ensuring color accuracy in the production of powder coatings and polyester coatings.
Sphere Spectrophotometer: A device used to measure the color of materials by analyzing the wavelengths of light reflected or transmitted by a sample. The spherical design ensures consistent measurement across different angles, making it critical in quality control for powder coatings and polyester coatings.
Brightness Meter: A tool that measures the brightness or reflectance of a surface. It’s often used in the paper, plastics, and coatings industries, including in the quality control of powder coatings and polyester coatings, to ensure proper finish and reflectivity.
Thickness Gauge: An instrument used to measure the thickness of materials or coatings. It ensures precision in applications like metalworking, powder coating, polyester coating, and manufacturing, helping to achieve uniform and durable finishes.
Adhesion Meter: A device used to measure the strength of adhesion between a coating and a substrate. It ensures coatings like paint, powder coatings, or polyester coatings stay firmly attached to surfaces, commonly used in quality control tests for these materials.
Impact Tester: Equipment designed to assess a material’s resistance to sudden impacts by applying force and observing how the material deforms or fractures. It is often used to evaluate the durability of powder coatings, polyester coatings, or other surface materials.
Bending Equipment: A machine used to test the flexibility and durability of materials or coatings by bending them at different angles. This helps assess how well powder coatings or polyester coatings can handle deformation without cracking or peeling.
Durometer (Buchholz): A specific type of hardness tester used to measure the indentation hardness of coatings, particularly paint. The Buchholz method tests how easily a powder coating or polyester coating surface can be scratched.
Thermograph: A device that records temperature variations over time, often used in industrial processes to monitor heat profiles and ensure proper curing of powder coatings, polyester coatings, and other materials.
Flowmeter: An instrument that measures the flow rate of liquids or gases. In coating applications or industrial processes, it ensures accurate dosing and application of powder coatings, polyester coatings, and other materials.
Drawing Equipment: Tools or machines used to perform mechanical drawing or stretching of materials to test their ductility, strength, and structural properties, including those of powder coatings and polyester coatings.
RAL Chart Colors: A standardized color matching system used primarily in Europe, providing a reference for selecting precise colors for powder coatings, polyester coatings, paints, or materials. It's widely used in industry to ensure consistency in color finishes.
Balance, Stove, Muffle, and Thermostatic Bath:
Grayscale: A tool or reference standard used to evaluate color fading or staining of materials over time. It provides a scale of shades from black to white to compare changes in appearance during testing, especially in lightfastness or aging tests of powder coatings and polyester coatings.
